What exactly do you do?

​

As the name of this site implies, I love building an understanding of the world through as many different perspectives as possible. There are far too many things I am passionate about doing and creating, so I have realized that the only way to engage with many or all of them on a regular basis is to work for myself.  Please fill out the Contact Me form on this site if you are interested in any of the following:

What makes you qualified?

Below are some of the credentials and lived experiences that have shaped and informed the services listed above:   BA in Cultural Anthropology from UMBC. MS in Sustainable Food Systems from Prescott College. Currently working towards a PhD in Sustainability Education at Prescott College. CELTA certification for teaching English as a Foreign Language through The Teaching House. Ecosa Certification in Regenerative Ecological Design from Prescott College. Certification in Plant-Based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. Experience as a freelance artist for much of my adult life. Many roles as an educator, including teaching adult ESL, citizenship classes, private high school tutoring, and more. Fluency in Spanish and several bilingual professional roles, including while working with migrants, domestic violence survivors, and youth in foster care. Experience organizing fundraisers for organizations such as A Well-Fed World. I served as the co-chair of CASA's LGBTQ advisory committee in Maryland. Many of my paintings have been sold at fundraisers for entities such as The Humane Society, the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, and for the varied recipients of the DC Gurly Show burlesque troupe's "Fundraise the Roof". Volunteered with the Cyprus Friendship Program for 8 years and facilitated peacebuilding, organizing, and action-planning workshops with Cypriot youth. Interned with the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless as an undergraduate and volunteered with the organization for a total of 11 years. Founded and organized a food justice mutual aid group that hosted regular community vegan meal prep and free food sharing events for several years in Maryland.  Served as part of a group tasked with redesigning the Prescott College campus. Has volunteered with Mutual Aid Disaster Relief since 2021 and hosted/helped organize a skillshare event for MADR. Spoke at the 2022 International Food Studies Conference. Involved for many years in varied animal liberation efforts.
